Anatomical Society Research Studentships Open for Application
The Anatomical Society offers a limited number of Research Studentships to be held in departments of anatomical sciences in the UK and Ireland. Applications are currently being invited from prospective supervisors for Research Studentships to commence in October 2020.
The Society supports Research Studentships for supervisors to nominate a student to work towards the award of a postgraduate degree in anatomical sciences, including anatomical education research, in the UK and Ireland. Studentships are offered for a period of up to three years and are intended to cover fees and maintenance.
Applications should be made by potential project supervisors. Supervisors must be members of the Anatomical Society who have been elected to membership by council for at least a year. Their employment position should be secure for at least three years.
Students appointed by supervisors should normally be British, Irish or European citizens (including citizens of the EEA) who have spent at least three years at a British or Irish institute of higher education. They should hold a first class or upper second class honours degree or an equivalent qualification.
Students should be graduates in an anatomical, medical, dental or veterinary subject looking to undertake a higher degree in an anatomical subject.
Non-EU students who have been granted ‘Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK’ are also eligible for the studentship.
For 2019/20, the Society proposes to reserve a studentship for an early career investigator (within three years of starting an independent position at the time of the application deadline).
Applications should be submitted before the deadline of 23 August 2019.
