Al Madad Foundation Opens First Call for Education Grants
Over the past two decades, Al Madad Foundation has worked to empower some of the world’s most vulnerable children by providing safe spaces to heal, learn and grow, with a focus on both healing the heart and expanding the mind.
The overall objective of this new call for proposals is to identify initiatives in support of the development and improvement of educational experiences of refugee and displaced children in Lebanon. A broad range of initiatives will be considered, but preference will be given to:
Capacity building within local civil society organisations in order to tailor creative and innovative alternative education opportunities for refugee children
Identification and introduction of wellbeing schemes for introduction into existing educational bodies and structures supporting refugee and displaced children
Research around current education schemes implemented with Syrian refugee children and the extent of their impact after 8 years of conflict.
In order to be considered eligible, applicants must:
Be a registered charity in the country in which they are headquartered; individuals who wish to apply can only do so in conjunction with a registered organisation (e.g. an academic researcher might apply with the backing of his or her university)
Have an annual income of between £5,000-£500,000 and at least three years’ continuous accounts
Be able to meet the Foundation’s reporting and acknowledgement requirements
Have a Child Protection Policy in place that conforms to the laws of the country in which they operate and a clear methodology that demonstrates that it is appropriately and consistently applied.
Organisations can submit one application for any amount up to £20,000 for a defined project of up to three years’ duration.
Applications must be submitted by the deadline of 18 March 2019.
