Pre-Announcement Call for UK and French Researchers to Work on Interdisciplinary Projects
AHRC and Laboratoire d’Excellence are providing a call to enable UK and French researchers to work on collaborative research projects. The call is scheduled to open in July.
The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and Laboratoire d’Excellence (LABEX) are providing funding for collaborative research projects between UK and French researchers.
This funding opportunity will support collaborative transnational and transcultural research across one or more of the themes of:
- The environmental humanities – especially naturescapes or cityscapes and memory, and environmental heritage and experiences
- Controversial pasts – especially in public spaces, galleries, libraries, archives, museums, and intangible heritage
- Futures and futurology – especially new and varied ways of predicting and understanding the future(s), and experiencing unthinkable objects
Applications for projects which foreground diverse perspectives are encouraged.
Projects may be focused at a variety of scales (or multi-scalar), and in a wide range of geo-cultural contexts globally. They can focus on or across any temporal periods or time horizons, past, present or future, including non-linear perspectives.
Applications for projects incorporating digital technologies, practice-based methodologies or solution-focused approaches will be welcomed.
Each proposal must identify one principal investigator from France and one principal investigator from the UK. The principal investigator from France must meet the eligibility requirements for the Laboratoire d’Excellence: Pasts in the Present (LABEX PasP Cluster of PasP) Programme, and the UK principal investigator must meet the AHRC’s eligibility requirements.
The project’s full economic cost can be up to £125,000. AHRC will fund 80% of this.
LABEX PasP Cluster of excellence will provide up to €60,000 (paid at 100%) for French costs.
Projects must start on 1 February 2022. They must last between 18 and 30 months.
Full guidance on eligibility, closing dates and how to apply will be published in July 2021.
