International Organisation of Vine and Wine Research Scholarships – 2021 Call Now Open

Funding is offered for postgraduate training in priority research areas in the fields of vines, wine, wine-based beverages, table grapes, raisins and other vine-based products.

L’Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin (OIV – International Organisation of Vine and Wine) is a scientific and technical intergovernmental organisation working in the fields of vines, wine, wine-based beverages, table grapes, raisins and other vine-based products.

The OIV Research Scholarships fund specific postgraduate training programmes in priority fields on a yearly basis. Candidates must possess a desire to pursue research, further their knowledge and keep up to date with the latest findings in their field of study and/or work.

Priority research themes for 2021 fall under the headings of: viticulture, oenology, economy and law, and health and safety. All proposed projects must reflect the strategic objectives and priorities of the programme and the OIV Strategic Plan. The work associated with the grant is to be carried out at the OIV or in a known research centre, as necessary.

Application is open to university degree holders wishing to pursue doctoral studies in order to undertake in-depth research and improve their knowledge and skills. Candidates are required to hold a Master’s degree or have at least five years of studies completed with degree obtained. The age limit is 40 years old. Candidates may be based in any country.

Up to €15,000 is available for 6-15 months in duration. Candidates must present an overall research budget, which must include all the forecast expenditure and revenue pertaining to aspects such as international and domestic travel, tuition fees and living costs.
