CNRS-INSB Launches Call for French and International Laboratories on Marine Biology

France’s National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) is a public scientific and technological establishment. It comprises various thematic institutes and carries out research to advance scientific knowledge as well as to generate social, cultural, and economic progress.

The CNRS Institut des Sciences Biologiques (INSB – Institute of Biological Sciences) is operating an international call for proposals on marine biology. As the Institute believes that understanding the biological mechanisms of marine species is key to understanding the history of life and evolution, it is supporting projects focused on these biological mechanisms. Through the call, INSB also hopes to foster and strengthen collaborations between CNRS-INSB laboratories and laboratories in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea and Australia. 

Projects must be led by laboratories primarily affiliated with CNRS-INSB. The need for collaboration with the non-French partner laboratory in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea and Australia must be justified.

Funding of up to €10,000/year will be provided for two years. Eligible costs include operating costs and travel and meeting expenses.

Applications must be submitted by 15 January 2024.
