Funding programme for threatened and refugee scholars to enable them to integrate and continue their research in another country. 

Gerda Henkel Stiftung (Gerda Henkel Foundation) is a charitable incorporated foundation under civil law in Germany. The foundation provides financial support for the historical humanities through prizes, grants and fellowships.

The foundation’s general research grants programme offers research funding for projects in the historical humanities with a particular focus on the following research areas:

• Archaeology.
• History.
• Historical Islamic Studies.
• Art History.
• History of Law.
• Prehistory and Early History.
• History of Science.

The Gerda Henkel Funding Programme for Scholars at Risk supports academics in the event of acute crisis to reorient themselves scientifically outside their home countries. The Programme is geographically open.
