Scheme offering individuals flexible funding to work in a new organisation in a sector different to their own.
The Academy of Medical Sciences Cross-Sector Experience Awards aim to incentivise and support working in different sectors. The scheme is supported by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and Wellcome.
The scheme offers individuals flexible funding to work in a new organisation. This should be in a sector different to their own.
Awards are designed to provide the awardee with the opportunity to:
- Experience working in a different sector.
- Develop their understanding of a new sector.
- Gain new skills.
- Foster collaborations.
Eligible individuals will be able to work in a new organisation in a different sector (the partner organisation) for between three and 12 months before returning to work at their employing organisation (their current employer). Applications with two partner organisations must have a total award period between six and 12 months.
