The Institute for Humane Studies (IHS), based at George Mason University in the United States, is a leading institute in higher education dedicated to championing scholarship of classical liberal ideas, such as Liberalism, Pluralism and Democracy; Speech and Intellectual Freedom; and Equality, Peace, and Prosperity.

The Institute’s Event Support funding is available to faculty and graduate students at accredited universities anywhere in the world who are seeking to organise and host in-person and online events to present and discuss research in the humanities and social sciences, including research workshops or academic conferences. Events should be rigorously academic in nature and feature speakers or texts that represent the diversity of views within the broad liberal tradition.
