Agri-tech and Food Technology, Mid and North Wales – CRD Competition
Closing Date: 20/08/2025
UK registered businesses can apply for grants for business led projects that grow their innovation activities in the agri-tech and food technology cluster in Mid and North Wales.
The Agri-tech and Food Technology, Mid and North Wales – CRD Competition competition is jointly operated by Innovate UK (IUK), the Welsh Government, Growing Mid Wales (hosted by Ceredigion County Council) and Ambition North Wales (hosted by Cyngor Gwynedd). The funding is from IUK’s Launchpad programme, which supports the UK government’s goals for local economic growth.
The competition aims to support innovation projects led by businesses operating in the agri-tech and food technology sectors. Funding must be used to expand innovation activity within the cluster based in Mid and North Wales, both during the project and beyond its completion.
Projects can address regional markets in Mid and North Wales, as well as international opportunities for scaling and commercialisation.
Proposals must focus on one or more of the following areas: productivity, quality, nutritional value, resilience, and resource efficiency; food processing, manufacturing, and the development of new markets; or sustainability, biodiversity, and rural resilience.
The competition is part of wider efforts to strengthen regional innovation capabilities and promote commercial growth in key technology sectors.
