JCLS José Carreras Clinician Scientist Programme

Funding for doctoral graduates and physicians embarking on specialist training at a university hospital in Germany to fund a research project into leukemia, lymphoma and related diseases.

The José Carreras Leukämie-Stiftung (JCLS- José Carreras Leukaemia Foundation) promotes the study of malignancy of blood cells and the construction of research and treatment facilities, as well as self-help groups and parent initiatives, which contribute to a better understanding and treatment of leukaemia in Germany.

The Foundation’s José Carreras Clinician-Scientist Programme supports experienced physicians with doctoral degrees and academic careers, who have already demonstrated successful prior work in experimental or translational research in leukemia or related malignant blood diseases, during their specialist training at a university hospital in Germany.

The goal of the programme is to create the necessary freedom to successfully establish and sustain their own competitive research group. The funded projects should be scientifically outstanding and innovative, and have the fundamental potential to achieve relevant advances for patients with leukemia, lymphoma and related diseases.
