Allianz Climate Risk Research Award Open for Applications

Allianz is a German multinational financial services company headquartered in Munich, Germany. Its core businesses are insurance and asset management.

The Allianz Climate Risk Research Award honours early career researchers whose research improves the understanding of climate change-related risks including extreme weather events. The thematic focus of the 2025 award is on the following areas:

  • Understanding and mitigating the risk of extreme weather events that are intensified by climate change.
  • Fostering resilience by applying technological solutions.

Eligible applicants are doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers, as well as recent doctoral graduates who had their graduation/viva within two years of the application deadline. There are no restrictions on nationality or applicant location. Allianz welcomes individual applications from the fields of natural sciences as well as economic and social sciences.

The award winner receives a monetary award of €7,000. The two finalists are granted €3,000 each.

Applications close on 31 August 2025.
