The Medical Research Foundation (MRF) is an independent research foundation established by the Medical Research Council (MRC). The MRF maintains several funding streams to support cutting-edge research to increase understanding of disease and benefit public health.

The MRF administers the Peter Horlock Skills Training and Development Award to support the career development of early career technical staff working in the field of PET radiochemistry at academic or NHS institutions in the UK.

The award offers funding for travel and subsistence costs related to skills, training and development opportunities. The overall aim of the award is to facilitate the sharing and acquisition of skills relevant to PET-based clinical research focused on improving human health.

Funding may also cover visits to centres of excellence in PET chemistry or attendance at specialist scientific conferences.
