Asthma + Lung UK (a merger of Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation) is a UK-based lung charity working to support everyone to be able to breathe freely.

Asthma + Lung UK has joined with the British Thoracic Society (BTS) to fund grants for healthcare professionals who would like to apply for a PhD (or equivalent qualification, eg MD) in respiratory-related research. Funding is available to build capability for clinical academic respiratory research in the UK, and enable relevant researchers to make a competitive application for a larger follow-on grant award from a national funding body (eg NIHR Predoctoral award, NIHR Doctoral award or MRC studentship).
