The Royal Historical Society Open Research Support Grant provides small grant awards for historians, who are beyond the early career stage, conducting historical research projects.

Projects must be clearly and predominantly historical in orientation, with a specific chronological remit. The grant is intended to fund activities such as visiting archives or historic sites, or conducting interviews.

The grants are intended for historians who do not have access to funding streams, or whose access to funding is insufficient to undertake crucial elements of their research.
