December Deadline Confirmed for the 2026 Edition of the Academy of Sciences/SIF Lovelace-Babbage Computing Prize

All work within the computer science field is eligible.

The Société Informatique de France (SIF – Informatics Society of France) aims to bring together all those who are interested in advancing informatics: teachers, researchers, engineers, industrialists and consultants. The term ‘informatics’ is used here in the broadest sense of science and technology at the core of the digital world.

In partnership with the Académie des Sciences, SIF awards the Académie des Sciences/SIF Lovelace-Babbage Computing Prize. The Prize recognises researchers whose work, from the most theoretical to the most applied, has contributed to the creation of new technologies in the field of computer science.

To be eligible for the 2027 prize, applicants must:

  • Be aged under 40 on 1 January 2027 or have obtained their thesis after 1 January 2015.
  • Be French or non-French researchers working in France for at least one year; or French researchers working in a foreign laboratory affiliated with a French organisation (eg CNRS, Inria etc).

Two prizes are available each year and each prize is worth €3,000.
