Scholarship award to support early career researchers and clinicians conducting clinical studies related to stroke, vascular neurology, and neurocritical care.

The American Heart Association (AHA) and American Brain Foundation (ABF) co-fund the Lawrence M Brass Clinical Research Training Scholarship in Stroke to support and encourage early career investigators developing an academic career in neurological research.

The scholarship will fund an annual stipend and research-related costs over two years to support postdoctoral researchers and physician researchers conducting clinical studies related to stroke, vascular neurology and neurocritical care.

Eligible projects can include epidemiological or behavioural studies, clinical trials, studies of disease mechanisms, the development of new technologies, and health services and outcomes research. Disease-related studies not directly involving humans or human tissue are also encouraged if the primary goal is the development of therapies, diagnostic tests, or other tools to prevent or mitigate neurological diseases.
