AHRC to Launch Cultural Heritage and Climate Change Networks Call

The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) has announced an opportunity, funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to support new networks comprised of UK institutions working with European partners, in-country partners in Official Development Assistance (ODA) countries, community practitioners, researchers, and policymakers for twelve months, to explore opportunities for widening cultural heritage and climate change engagement and policy across both the UK and international communities.

Funding for this funding opportunity is 100% DCMS funding stemming from a three year grant agreement between AHRC and DCMS (2022-25), specifically from the International Cultural Heritage Protection Programme. It will be a step towards the European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage, providing a networking opportunity to prepare researchers to apply to future funding opportunities.

The full economic cost (FEC) of a project can be up to £60,000. AHRC will fund 80% of the FEC. Projects will be funded up to a maximum of 12 months, and must start on 1 February 2026 and be completed by 31 January 2027.

Applicants must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funding. Applications from early career researchers are particularly encouraged.
