APNI African Plant Nutrition Outreach Fellowship Open to Applications
Fellowship for innovative African scientists, extension specialists and educators to support education, training and communication programmes relevant to improving the use and efficiency of plant nutrients in African agro-ecosystems.
Established in 2019, the African Plant Nutrition Institute (APNI) is a non-profit research organisation that seeks to enhance plant nutrition to improve food security in Africa and enable African farmers to sustainably manage food crops.
The APNI African Plant Nutrition Outreach Fellowship was established in 2021 to support innovative African scientists, extension specialists and educators to support education, training and communication programmes relevant to improving the use and efficiency of plant nutrients in African agro-ecosystems. Proposals must provide a description of how the fellowship will lead to improved outreach or implementation of appropriate soil fertility management in agricultural systems.
Applicants are encouraged to submit creative proposals addressing knowledge gaps or needed synthesis of existing information for accelerating the delivery and adoption of improved nutrient stewardship in Africa. Applicants should indicate how the award will be used (such as to support travel, communication outreach or training activities).
Eligible applicants are scientists, extension specialists and educators working at an African National Agricultural Research and Extension System (NARES) institution or African university, non-profit organisation or private sector organisation. Evidence of partnerships and collaboration will be favourably reviewed. Female candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
Two awards with a value of $5,000 each are available.
Applications must be submitted by the deadline of 31 August 2022.
