The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), founded in 1984, is a non-profit membership organisation dedicated to the conservation and preservation of India’s natural, cultural, living, tangible and intangible heritage.
INTACH offers scholarships to UK citizens to enable them to travel to India and follow any course of study or research which would be beneficial to either or both countries. Scholarships are awarded to professionals in the early stages of their career or to students. Typical scholarships available include:
- Visiting fellowships for two to three months for early mid-career professionals to study or gain wider experience and exposure.
- Research fellowships to enable postgraduate students and established scholars to undertake research at Indian universities and institutions.
- Senior travel scholarships to enable established scholars and craftsmen to give lectures, conduct workshops or contribute advice to conservation programmes.
Research projects should start in March 2022 and be completed within a year.
Only persons of UK nationality and domiciled and normally resident in the UK are eligible. Most scholarships are awarded to scholars in the early stages of their career, or to students, but senior travel scholarships are also available.
The scholarships or part thereof could also be offered to any charitable educational institution in India facilitating the above education study visits.
Scholarships of up to a maximum of INR 500,000 are offered.
Applications for the 2021 call must be submitted by the deadline of 30 November 2021.
