Applications Open for Nature Awards Inspiring Women in Science
Awards presented to celebrate and support the achievements of women in science and those who inspire the next generation of female scientists around the world.
The Nature Awards for Inspiring Women in Science are presented in partnership with The Estée Lauder Companies. This collaboration aims to celebrate and support the achievements of women in science, as well as initiatives that encourage girls and young women to engage with STEM subjects and pursue STEM careers worldwide.
Awards will be presented in two categories:
- Science Outreach – initiatives that have either:
- Encouraged girls or young women to engage with and study natural sciences, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEM), or
- Increased retention of women in STEM careers, with a focus on providing tools to support women through their career progression in a STEM discipline.
- Scientific Achievement – for applicants who have made an exceptional, demonstrable contribution to scientific discovery, and may have faced significant personal or professional challenges.
Applications for the Science Outreach category are open to organisations, departments, individuals (of any gender), or project teams.
For the Scientific Achievement category, applicants must self-identify as a woman (including trans women, genderqueer and non-binary individuals) and hold a PhD, medical degree (MD), or another doctorate by dissertation obtained within the last 10 years. Additionally, applicants must be in a non-tenured position at the time of application, and applications are accepted from individuals working in STEM fields.
Submissions are welcome from any country.
Two winners will be awarded $50,000, and two runners up will receive $5,000.
