BMG – Target Group-Specific Prevention or Reduction of Cannabis Use
Closing Date: 17/03/2026
Funding is provided for collaborative projects that aim to prevent or significantly reduce cannabis use in Germany.
The funding programme ‘Target Group-Specific Prevention to Prevent or Reduce Cannabis Use‘ (Zielgruppenspezifische Prävention zur Verhinderung oder Reduzierung des Cannabiskonsums) of Bundesministerium für Gesundheit (BMG – German Federal Ministry for Health) is designed to support research projects that prevent or significantly reduce cannabis use through new selective and indicated prevention measures in Germany.
Funding is provided for collaborative projects that develop, test, and evaluate innovative, target group-specific approaches to preventing cannabis use among children and adolescents from families affected by addiction, as well as those receiving services within the outpatient youth welfare system. Projects are expected to demonstrate measurable outcomes, such as a reduction or cessation of cannabis use, or a measurable delay in or prevention of the onset of cannabis use, in one or both of the target groups mentioned above.
BMG has appointed the project management agency DLR Projektträger to coordinate the programme on its behalf.
