Brain Research: Schram-Stiftung Supports Research Grants in Basic Neuroscience
Schram-Stiftung (Schram Foundation) is a German foundation whose purpose is to promote science and research in the fields of medicine and neuroscience, especially brain research. It regularly publishes calls for proposals to support researchers in neuroscience.
The Brain Research: Research Grants in Basic Neuroscience are awarded by the Schram-Stiftung primarily to support independent young scientists who want to explore new research topics in the field of fundamental neuroscience. Priority is given to projects that study molecular and cellular aspects of nervous system functions. Ideal projects are innovative and daring and involve novel techniques. They should demonstrate curiosity-driven research in basic neuroscience.
Grant proposals can be submitted by scientists who perform independent research at a university or a non-university research institution in Germany.
Funding of up to €120,000 a year is available for a maximum period of three years to cover the costs for staff, scientific equipment, supplies, travel, and other expenses in a flexible manner.
It is not possible to apply for funding of the applicant’s own position. To be eligible for a grant, the applicant’s position must be securely funded throughout the project period for which funding is requested.
Applications for the 2024 grants must be submitted by the deadline of 15 September 2024.
