Cancer Research Horizons Project Development Fund
Closing Date: –
Funding to support the early-stage validation of research funded by Cancer Research UK to progress towards commercial development.
Cancer Research Horizons is a subsidiary of Cancer Research UK that provides a range of support to accelerate the translational development of innovative research into therapeutics, diagnostics and medical devices to treat and manage cancer. Cancer Research Horizons brings together its in-house drug discovery capability, development expertise, industry partners, investment finance and Cancer Research UK’s network of cutting-edge researchers, clinicians and technology to bridge the gap between discovery research and enterprise creation to bring new treatments to patients faster.
The Cancer Research Horizons Project Development Fund provides early-stage validation and pre-seed capital to help bridge the gap between a new idea and the generation of validating data. Funding should enable researchers to address and answer key questions that are inhibiting further commercial development of innovative research findings funded by Cancer Research UK, for example by providing support for in vivo proof of concept studies, key reagent or product generation, or market research.
There is no restriction on the type of proposal that can be funded, however projects should be consistent with Cancer Research Horizons’ vision and purpose, have a clearly defined endpoint, and be achievable in the short to medium term.
