Funding over two years to support research focusing on the evaluation and management of children and adults with Fontan physiology.
The Children’s Heart Foundation (CHF) is a US-based non-profit organisation that funds promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects (CHD). The CHF supports research in all areas relevant to congenital heart disease, including clinical, translational, population, behavioural, bioengineering, biotechnology, or public health.
The CHF and Cortney Gives BAK Foundation have issued a joint Request for Applications in 2025 for the Cortney Gives BAK Foundation Award, which offers funding over two years to support research focusing on the evaluation and management of children and adults with Fontan physiology.
The award will support research intended to prolong longevity and improve quality of life in patients who have undergone the Fontan procedure. Examples of proposals that are of particular interest could include research focusing on medications, devices, surgeries, and procedures intended to improve Fontan circulatory physiology, the evaluation and management of Fontan-Associated Liver Disease (FALD), arrhythmia therapies, and the timing, evaluation, and conduct of cardiac and liver transplantation.
