Claudia von Schilling Breast Cancer Research Awards 2023 Now Open for Applications
Up to €10,000 are offered to support research on breast cancer therapy by researchers in a German-speaking country.
Claudia von Schilling Foundation for Breast Cancer Research supports research approaches which promise new directions in breast cancer treatment and therapeutic measures.
The foundation promotes prevention, education and research via the following two annual awards:
- Claudia von Schilling Prize: The award acknowledges scientific achievements in the field of breast cancer research and relevant therapeutic procedures. The prize can also be given as a financial contribution to prospective or ongoing scientific research projects.
- Breast Cancer Junior Research Award: The prize honours early career researchers as well as research groups who have made a significant contribution to the field of breast cancer research, breast cancer medicine and/or therapy.
Eligible for the awards are scientists based in German-speaking countries.
For the 2023 awards, submissions must have been published or be accepted for publication between 1 April 2021 and 31 May 2023.
In case of the Breast Cancer Junior Research Award, the applicant (or the head of the research group) must be below the age of 40.
The awards have the following monetary value:
- Claudia von Schilling Prize: €10,000.
- Breast Cancer Research Junior Award: €5,000.
Both awards are to be used for the continuation of scientific work. As a rule, the foundation awards one prize per category.
The application deadline for the 2023 award is 15 October 2023.
