Funding is available for joint German and Colombian research projects in any field of research.

In line with its activities in the interest of research, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG – German Research Foundation) maintains partnerships and relations with a large number of partner organisations on all continents including the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL) in Colombia. As part of this cooperation, the DFG and the UNAL launched a call for proposals in all fields of science. Researchers from Germany and the UNAL can submit proposals for joint research projects in any field of research.

Proposals must be submitted separately but simultaneously to the UNAL and to the DFG.

Eligible for support by the DFG are researchers working at German research institutions who have completed research training (generally a doctorate). German researchers from non-university research institutions such as one of the institutes or member organisations of the Max Planck Society, Fraunhofer Society, Helmholtz Association or Leibniz Association, who have to fulfil the duty to cooperate may only submit proposals together with a partner from a German university. Research funding will be provided for up to three years. Each funding organisation will fund only those project components that are carried out within its own country.
