Deutschen Maculastiftung – Research Award

Award to honour outstanding published research by investigators in Germany whose work addresses the topic blindness caused by macular degeneration.

Deutsche Maculastiftung (German Macula Foundation) is a charitable organisation in Germany dedicated to raising awareness about macular diseases as well as promoting research to improve treatments and patient care.

The foundation’s Research Award is designed to draw public attention to the personal and social consequences of blindness caused by macular degeneration in order to improve care for those affected. The award is given for outstanding published research  in one of the following subject areas:

• The experience of illness or coping with illness among those affected by macular degeneration.
• Translational research into new treatment options.
• Efficient research through the reverse translation of clinical observations into laboratory models.
