DTRF Planning Grant
Closing Date: 14/06/2024
Funding is available over a maximum one-year period to support the development of collaborative research teams and preliminary data concerning the spontaneous regression of desmoid tumours.
The Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation (DTRF) is a US-based charitable organisation established in 2005. Its mission is to fund research to accelerate the development of improved therapies, and ultimately find a cure for desmoid tumours.
One of the Foundation’s key research priorities is to advance understanding of why some desmoid tumours spontaneously regress. The DTRF Planning Grant was launched as part of the Foundation’s 2024 grant cycle to support the development of teams and/or preliminary data toward a larger grant to address questions around spontaneous tumour regression.
Funding will be provided to help establish collaborative groups, especially those comprising researchers from different disciplines, in anticipation of funding a larger programmatic project in 2025.
Initial projects may involve (but are not limited to) studies of tumour biology, differences in patients, prognostic imaging, outcomes analysis including response to therapy, genetic analysis, and large data analysis. Investigations are expected to provide critical insight into desmoid tumour biology, patient prognosis, new and more targeted therapies.
