€1 Million CERF Medical Prize
The Cullen Education and Research Fund (CERF) Medical Prize aims to facilitate a more normal lifestyle for people with motor neuron disease (MND)/amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) while – ideally – extending life expectancy. €1 million will be awarded to the applicant that can solve the problem of muscular atrophy associated with MND/ALS.
The key goal of the Prize is to find a successful approach to improve usable muscle strength in MND/ALS patients. CERF is looking for approaches:
That stop muscle wasting indefinitely and restore usefulness.
Which could also prolong life.
That are biologic, mechanical, electrical, etc. There are no limitations on eligible ideas.
That are long lasting.
The Prize is open to both organisations and individuals, globally.
Registrations of Intent must include a brief outline of the proposal to solve the challenge.
They should be sent to CERF by the deadline of 30 September 2020.
