EMBRC-France Access Call

Closing Date: 19/09/2025

EMBRC-France is operating a programme to enable researchers in France or elsewhere to access one or more of its three sites and to make use of its available marine biological resources.

The European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC) is a European research infrastructure (RI) dedicated to the advancement of fundamental and applied marine biology and ecology research, while promoting the development of blue biotechnology. EMBRC facilitates access to marine organisms and ecosystems, experimental facilities, technological platforms, and relevant services in its Marine Stations and Research Institutes of 10 European countries including (Italy, Belgium, France, Greece, Israel, Portugal, Norway, Spain, Finland, Sweden) in support of robust and efficient research.

EMBRC-France is the French subsidiary of the Centre. It comprises three marine stations: Banyuls-sur-mer, Roscoff and Villefranche-sur-mer, each operating under joint supervision of CNRS and Université Sorbonne. EMBRC-France offers academic scientists and businesses simplified access to ecosystems, marine biological resources, cutting edge equipment and complementary expertise of the three marine stations. Providing both on-site reception and remote services, EMBRC-France removes barriers of access to marine biological resources and provides a tool for the exploration and exploitation of marine biodiversity, from a molecular level to whole ecosystems.

In order to facilitate access to its services and resources, EMBRC-France operates a call for proposals supporting projects which require scientific support. The call aims to encourage discovery and the use of the Centre’s biological resources (macro or microorganisms collected in situ, cultivated or stored in the aquaria), services and expertise. The programme is open to all users from the national and international scientific academic community, covering all scientific disciplines.
