Closing Date: –

Funding for research and innovation to address the challenges of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) with a One Health approach.

The European Partnership on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (EUP OHAMR) brings together 53 organisations from 30 countries in EU and beyond, providing joint support to research and innovation and mobilising to address the challenges of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) with a One Health approach.

The formation of the European Partnership One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (EUP OHAMR) was proposed by the European Commission within the framework of the Horizon Europe work programme 2023/2024, to align R&I funding and other activities among the EU countries and beyond. The partnership builds on the legacy of the Join Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR), which has invested over €180 million for research projects and networks between 2011 and 2024.

The EUP OHAMR brings together 53 organisations from 30 countries across EU and beyond, aiming to close knowledge gaps and break silos between sectors, disciplines and perspectives. As a global collaboration of organisations across society, the EUP OHAMR is expected to contribute towards the European One Health Action Plan against AMR and the Global Sustainable Development Goals.

The strategic foundation of the EUP OHAMR is outlined in the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA)

The actions of the EUP OHAMR are organised within four implementation programmes:

  • R&I funding programme, which will provide financial support to AMR R&I.
  • Capacity strengthening programme, which will support training, networking and collaboration across disciplines, One Health sectors, countries and career stages.
  • Data exploitation programme, which will facilitate and promote access, sharing and (re)use of data and research infrastructures.
  • Impact programme, which will support knowledge mobilisation and uptake of research results into products, practice and policy for maximum societal impact.

EUP OHAMR is a 10 year programme operating from 2025-2035 and is co-ordinated by the Swedish Research Council, Sweden.
