Fondation Jean Laplanche Launches New Research Grants for Doctorate and Postdoctorate Study in Psychoanalysis
The Fondation Jean Laplanche – Nouveaux fondements pour la psychanalyse (Jean Laplanche Foundation – New Foundations for Psychoanalysis) is a foundation of the Institut de France, established in 2009 by psychoanalyst Jean Laplanche. The Foundation aims to contribute to the development of psychoanalysis in both France and abroad and continue the work of Laplanche, focussing on the translation and publication of his works in foreign languages.
The Foundation’s research grants are intended for students engaged in doctoral studies, leading to a thesis written in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese, or for doctorate holders wishing to continue their research work, in fields directly related to the work of Jean Laplanche.
To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled full-time in a doctoral programme at a university or a doctoral degree holder applying for a postdoctoral position. No nationality restrictions apply.
Applicants for a doctoral grant must have submitted their thesis proposal or be sufficiently advanced in a research project likely to contribute to the advancement of psychoanalysis. Applicants for a postdoctoral grant must be able to submit a structured research proposal.
A grant of €25,000 per year will be paid to the applicant for the duration of the doctorate (maximum of three years), or the duration of the postdoctoral position (maximum of two years).
