Foundation Fiat Panis Seeks Innovative Projects in Global Food Security
Support for projects at German research institutions which contribute to an improvement in the nutritional situation of countries with food deficit.
Stiftung fiat panis (Foundation fiat panis) supports innovative projects in development-related agricultural and nutritional research, which are designed to contribute to the improvement of the nutritional situation in the southern hemisphere.
In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the founder Hermann Eiselen (1926-2009), the foundation has published a new call to support innovative projects which contribute to overcoming hunger in the world.
Scientists in agricultural and nutritional sciences who are based at universities or non-profit research institutions in Germany are eligible to apply. Collaborative projects with institutions in developing countries are given priority.
The overall budget of the call is €250,000. Individual projects may be granted funding of up to €50,000. The foundation requires that 20% of the funding be used for demonstrations, workshops or other local initiatives designed to improve food security.
Draft applications must be submitted by the deadline of 15 August 2026.
