German Cystic Fibrosis Association Grant Programme Now Open

The aim of the German Cystic Fibrosis Association Grant Programme of the Mukoviszidose Institut (MI – Cystic Fibrosis Institute) is to foster CF-relevant research which improves patients’ quality of life and life expectancy. The funding scheme comprises four different modules which are not all open for application.

The call supports CF-relevant larger and smaller research projects and offers grants for travel and event organisation. The target group of the 2025 call for research projects (Module 1 – Projektförderung) is particularly on young asymptomatic patients, patients with rare mutations or patients who do not benefit from existing CFTR modulators and elderly and multimorbid patients with complications/secondary diseases.

The programme also supports junior researchers and doctors during their qualification phase (Module 2 – Nachwuchsförderung). This includes doctoral students, young clinicians as well as postdoctoral researchers. Funding is designed to enable young scientists to deepen their knowledge in CF research and get involved in the scientific community.

Eligible for funding are researchers in Germany.

The overall grant value of the present call is €250,000.
