Funding to support research on the effects of advertising and messaging in lottery gambling.
The International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG) is a US-based 501(c)(3) charitable organisation that was founded in 1996. Its mission is to help individuals and families affected by gambling disorder by supporting peer-reviewed, scientific research into gambling disorder; encouraging the application of new research findings to improve prevention, diagnostic, intervention and treatment strategies; and advancing public education about gambling disorder and responsible gaming.
The ICRG invites investigators to apply for a two-year large grant to explore the impact of advertising, promotions, and public awareness messaging on lottery gambling and gambling-related harms. The goal is to produce practical insights that support responsible advertising and public health strategies, reducing harm while encouraging individuals with gambling-related issues to seek assistance.
Research topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- Effectiveness of messaging on harm minimisation or help-seeking behaviours.
- Reducing stigma through messaging.
- Behavioural impact of lottery advertising and promotions.
- Optimising public awareness campaigns.
- Insights from real-time data.
