Institut de France Launches the Fondation Luciole Grand Prize to Award Contributions to the Ecological Transition
The Fondation Luciole (Luciole Foundation) operates in the field of training, helping deprived children and adults to acquire skills enabling them to find their independence, as well as in the field of environmental protection, promoting awareness and fostering the protection of nature and the environment. The Foundation operates under the aegis of the Institut de France
The Fondation Luciole’s Grand Prize aims to recognise social initiatives or scientific research dedicated to the ecological transition, in France and internationally, particularly in the following areas:
- Protection of nature and biodiversity.
- Ecological transition, particularly in the fields of agriculture, industry, transportation, energy, consumption and communal living.
- Prevention of natural or health hazards.
- Education on the ecological transition.
The Prize is open to the following groups, regardless of nationality:
- To a legal establishment (organisation, association), engaged in non-profit social initiatives, whether public or private sector.
- To one or more natural persons (maximum three), engaged in non-profit social initiatives, whether public or private sector, presenting their project collectively.
- To a team of scientific researchers, represented either by a legal person (laboratory or institute), whether in the public or private sector.
The Prize consists of a grant of €100,000, which is intended to enable to winner to increase their capacity to work toward the objectives of their research project.
