Irish Cultural Centre Fellowship Bursary
Closing Date: 15/02/2026
These fellowships support in-person research visits of 4-6 weeks to study the heritage collections of the Irish Cultural Centre in Paris.
Located in the historic Irish College building in Paris, the Centre Culturel Irlandais (Irish Cultural Centre) works to enhance Franco-Irish relations through a diverse cultural and educational programme. The Centre is governed by Fondation Irlandaise (Irish Foundation).
The Centre awards its Fellowship Bursaries to encourage research on its heritage collections:
- Old Library, containing works from the fifteenth to the nineteenth century covering subjects such as theology, history and philosophy.
- Historical Archives, covering a period from the fourteenth to the twentieth century and focused on the activities of the Irish College and buildings owned by the Irish Community.
Supported research may focus on an historical subject, a period of time, an author, the manuscripts or printed items, the provenance of parts of the collections, bindings etc. Priority will be given to research subjects examining a corpus of references rather than one item in particular.
Supported visits are usually expected to result in a substantial essay (in English or in French) that contributes to knowledge of the library and/or archives.
