Research fellowships for scholars in the fields of humanities and social sciences to spend up to twelve months at the Global Dis:connect Research Centre in Munich, Germany.
The Global Dis:connect Research Centre in at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) in Munich focuses on interdisciplinary phenomena of global integration and disintegration within the current processes of globalisation.
The Centre offers fellowships for six to up to twelve months for scholars whose work is strongly connected to at least one of the Centre’s central topics. These include the following research areas:
- The significance of different forms of dis:connectivity such as interruptions, absences or detours.
- Laboratories of dis:connectivity in which the tensions between global connections and disconnections manifest themselves (eg islands, borders or encampments).
- Cultural infrastructures and their dis:connective role in globalisation.
- Temporal dis:connectivities in the context of globalisation.
Fellowships commence between 1 September and 1 October 2025 or between 1 March and 1 April 2026.
The Centre is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF – Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung).
