Funding opportunities for researchers dedicated to advancing the understanding, diagnosis or treatment of paediatric and rare kidney conditions.
Kidney Research UK’s research strategy to 2030 has four strategic research objectives, which are:
- To increase the understanding of kidney health and kidney disease.
- To find new ways to protect kidney health and preserve kidney function.
- To discover better ways to detect, diagnose and treat kidney disease.
- To utilise research evidence for improvements in kidney healthcare.
Paediatric and Rare Kidney Diseases Grants are available to accelerate research that addresses the unique challenges of paediatric and rare kidney conditions and to advance understanding, diagnosis or treatment in these areas.
The following types of grants are available:
- Research project grants – supports standalone projects that will advance knowledge in paediatric and rare kidney disease.
- Start-up grants – funds early-stage studies exploring innovative new hypotheses where limited prior research exists.
- Intermediate non-clinical fellowships – supports postdoctoral researchers aiming to specialise in paediatric and rare kidney disease.
- PhD studentships (non-clinical) – funds doctoral research focused on paediatric and rare kidney disease.
- Clinical training fellowships – supports medical graduates training to specialise in paediatric and rare kidney disease.
