Funding to support transdisciplinary climate transition networks in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, to strengthen collaboration, knowledge exchange and climate action initiatives.
Klimaatonderzoek Initiatief Nederland (KIN – Dutch Climate Research Initiative) is a network institute where science and practice work together on the transition to a just climate-neutral and climate-resilient society.
The KIN Network Funding Caribbean is designed to support transdisciplinary climate transition networks in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The funding aims to help establish new networks or professionalise existing ones, strengthen collaboration between stakeholders and disciplines, and accelerate climate-related system transitions in the Caribbean. Networks are expected to contribute to knowledge exchange, long-term collaboration, and climate transition activities that align with local priorities.
KIN is particularly interested in receiving expressions of interests from Caribbean climate networks that:
- Contribute to accelerating climate-related system transitions in the Caribbean.
- Are focused on diverse target groups, including for example businesses, governments, civil society organisations, citizens, communities, and knowledge institutions.
- Can play a (long term) role in the Caribbean knowledge landscape by working together over a longer period and by sharing knowledge outside of their network.
- Safeguard inclusivity, justice, and cultural sensitivity.
- Align well with the Caribbean context and local priorities.
