KNHG History Fund

Funding is available for independent researchers who have initiated their own research project in the area of Dutch history. 

The Koninklijk Nederlands Historisch Genootschap (KNHG – Royal Dutch Association of Historians) is the professional association of historians in the Netherlands. KNHG represents the interests of the profession and connects historians with each other.

The KNHG History Fund aims to facilitate historical research in the field of Dutch history in the broadest sense. The fund focuses on supporting research, including its final products, that cannot receive financial support elsewhere due to the applicant or the nature of the final product.

The research/final product must:

• Focus on the Netherlands and Dutch history in the broadest sense.
• Be based on innovative (archival) research, which need not be conducted exclusively in the Netherlands.
• Aim for a specific, broad, and well-defined target group.
