Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Wissenschaften (MPG – Max Planck Society for the Promotion of Science) is an independent, non-profit research organisation dedicated to the promotion of innovative and interdisciplinary research. In more than 85 research institutes, the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft conducts basic research in biology, medicine, chemistry, physics, engineering, humanities, social sciences, cognitive (neuro)sciences and law.
The Max Planck Partner Groups Programme (Max-Planck-Partnergruppen) is are aimed at outstanding young scientists or postdoctoral researchers who, after a research stay at a Max Planck Institute (MPI), got affiliated with a research institution or university, preferably in their home country. The partner groups enable collaboration in research areas that are innovative, scientifically promising, future-oriented and of mutual interest to both the MPI and the international partner institution.
