New D-A-CH Joint Call Issued on Transport Infrastructure Research
The D-A-CH Collaboration on Transport Infrastructure Research Programme (D-A-CH Kooperation Verkehrsinfrastrukturforschung) is a joint funding initiative by Bundesministerium für Klimaschutz, Umwelt, Energie, Mobilität, Innovation und Technologie – Österreich (BMK – Austrian Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology), Bundesministeriums für Digitales und Verkehr (BMDV – Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport), Eidgenössisches Department für Umwelt, Verkehr, Energie und Kommunikation, Schweiz (UVEK – Swiss Department for Environment, Transport, Energy and Communication), and Bundesamt für Straßen, Schweiz (ASTRA – Swiss Federal Roads Office).
The programme promotes collaborative research and development projects between partners in the joint economic and language area of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The aim is to address research questions on transport infrastructure that affect all three countries.
The thematic focus of the 2025 call is on circular economy, remote sensing data and operations service. In particular, funding is provided for R&D projects in the areas of UHPC elements for road bridges, CO2 balance of asphalt roads and the reuse of steel sheet pile walls. Likewise supported are projects on the use of satellite-based remote sensing data in road management and camera-based AI in road maintenance.
Applications are welcome from research organisations and commercial businesses in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The budget of the 2025 call is €2.6 million. The programme offers funding of 100% of project-related eligible costs.
