NIHR Senior Research Leader Programme

Funding for senior nurses, midwives and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) in England to support the development of their research leadership skills, thereby strengthening research capacity and capability within their organisations and across the wider system.

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) offers the Senior Research Leader Programme to senior nurses, midwives and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) to enable them to develop their research leadership skills to enhance research capacity and capability within their organisations and beyond. Support is offered to individuals from diverse health and social care backgrounds who excel in leading research, fostering collaboration and generating innovative ideas.

Candidates will need to ensure that their employer will support them to be on the programme for two days (0.4 WTE) per week over a period of three years.
