Pain Relief Foundation Small Grant and PhD Studentship Open for Applications
The Pain Relief Foundation (PRF) is inviting applications for two funding awards – the Small Grants Scheme and Professor John Miles Prize PhD Studentship – to support research investigating the mechanisms and/or relief of human chronic pain.
The Small Grants scheme is open to researchers at institutions in the UK and can award grants of between £10,000 and £30,000 for projects investigating the mechanisms or relief of chronic pain in humans. Grants can be held in the Foundation’s own Pain Research Institute in Liverpool or at other approved centres in the UK. Applications are especially welcomed from early career researchers.
The Professor John Miles Prize PhD Studentship is aimed at graduates interested in embarking on a career in pain research and offers a maximum of £85,000 over three years for a PhD project based on research into chronic human pain. Applications are invited from universities, academic institutes and other potential project supervisors in the UK. The award includes an annual stipend of £20,780 and £5,006 per year for tuition fees, plus a small budget for consumables. Applications for four year projects will also be considered, not exceeding the maximum funding limit.
