Pathological Society Trainee Clinical-Scientist Partnership Grant
Closing Date: 01/10/2024
Funding to support a research team undertaking a pathology research project with a strong morpho-molecular aspect.
The Pathological Society Trainee Clinical-Scientist Partnership Grant is designed to fund a research team conducting a pathology research project that addresses a specific research question/hypothesis and has a strong morpho-molecular aspect. The overall objective of the grant is to facilitate the integration of academic pathologists in training to one of the molecular diagnostic services across the UK.
The team should include a tissue pathologist in training and a molecular diagnostic specialist (pathology consultant or clinical scientist) currently working in one of the diagnostic services in pathology, laboratory medicine or genomics in the UK. The grant will fund project costs for a maximum of three years. The project can have a strong link to molecular diagnostics, but cannot be a simple validation of a molecular diagnostic test.
Data derived from the work should lead to a high-quality, peer-reviewed publication in one of the lead pathology journals, and should normally be presented at a scientific meeting of the Society ahead of publication.
