Prinses Beatrix Spierfonds – Innovative Therapies

Grant funding for translational and clinical research projects that advance the development of innovative therapies for neuromuscular disorders, helping move promising treatments from pre-clinical research towards clinical application.

The Prinses Beatrix Spierfonds (Princess Beatrix Muscle Fund) is a Dutch charitable organisation that was founded in 1956. Its mission is to promote scientific research into neuromuscular disorders and support the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of patients.

The Innovative Therapies grant round forms part of the Prinses Beatrix Spierfonds Drug Development Programme and aims to accelerate the development of innovative therapies for neuromuscular disorders. The scheme supports translational and clinical research projects that target the underlying cause and/or disease mechanisms of neuromuscular diseases and help move promising therapies closer to clinical application. Applications may include drug repurposing approaches.

Projects must focus on one or more eligible neuromuscular disorders and contribute to the development of an innovative therapy targeting disease causes or mechanisms. Translational and clinical projects, starting at approximately TRL 3 are eligible. Spierfonds encourages multidisciplinary collaboration and knowledge sharing, both within and beyond academia.
