Prostate Cancer Research Collaborative and PPI Seed Grants
Closing Date: 14/11/2025
Two seed funding opportunities to strengthen connections between scientists to improve outcomes in prostrate cancer and to deepen connections between research and lived experience of prostate cancer.
Prostate Cancer Research (PCR) is a charitable organisation dedicated to funding research that will deliver a world free from the impact of prostate cancer.
PCR is inviting applications for two seed funding opportunities designed to bring people together, foster the sharing of ideas, build partnerships, and keep patients at the heart of research. The two opportunities are as follows:
Collaborative Seed Grant – offering early stage support for projects that bring people together; pool knowledge and resources; and accelerate innovation to improve outcomes in prostate cancer. The fund is designed to spark new connections between, for example, individuals, organisations, or medical or research institutions and give collaborative ideas the momentum they need to grow.
Examples of activities that could be supported through the grant include:
- Joint experiments to test new ideas.
- Transporting samples, equipment, or cell lines between institutions.
- Researcher visits to share techniques or training.
- Networking activities such as specialist group meetings, workshops, or seminars.
The funding should boost prostate cancer research and build capacity in advanced prostate cancer research.
Patient & Public Involvement (PPI) Seed Grant – offering support for meaningful engagement activities that ensure prostate cancer research is informed by lived experience, so it stays relevant, impactful, and aligned with patient needs.
The awards will encourage research projects that actively involve patients and the public from the outset and foster collaboration between researchers, patients, and public stakeholders.
Examples of activities that will be supported through the grant include:
- Costs for patients attending research meetings.
- Preparation and printing of posters or materials.
- Involving patients as consultants.
- Snacks, catering, or venue hire for workshops and meetings.
