Samsung Global Research Outreach (GRO) Programme Opens Applications for 2025
The Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) is Samsung Group’s R&D hub, established as an incubator for cutting-edge technologies. The institute’s missions are to develop novel technologies for new markets, to create new convergence technologies, to advance science-based nanotechnology research and to develop technologies that go beyond current paradigms.
The Samsung Global Research Outreach (GRO) Programme is part of the Samsung Electronics academic research engagement and collaboration platforms. Since 2009, Samsung has invited world-class university researchers to propose novel research ideas and work with its R&D teams to foster technological innovation. This has resulted in active collaborative relationships with over 150 leading universities worldwide.
The GRO programme issues an annual call for proposals to invite leading universities to propose innovative research ideas which will be evaluated for their novelty and alignment with Samsung’s various research fields.
The 2025 GRO Programme is seeking proposals in six research themes:
- System Architecture.
- New Computing.
- Semiconductor Materials.
- Semiconductor Metrology.
- Next Generation Catalyst.
- Environment Technology for Sustainability.
Applicants must be university professors or researchers. Joint research proposals from multiple universities are welcomed and accepted.
Projects can receive funding of up to $150,000 per year.
