Total of €65,000 Available in the 2026 Académie des Sciences/Inria Prizes for Computer Science and Mathematics
A Grand Prize, Innovation Prize and Young Researcher Prize are available.
France’s Académie des Sciences (Academy of Sciences) is an independent scholarly society created in 1666. It is one of the five academies within the Institut de France and is dedicated to developing science and advising governments on scientific topics.
In partnership with the Institut National de Recherche en Sciences et Technologies du Numérique (Inria – National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology), the Academy awards three prizes in the fields of computer science and mathematics.
The Inria/Academy of Sciences Grand Prize is awarded to a scientist who has made an exceptional contribution to the field of computer science and mathematics. Applicants may be of any nationality but must conduct their research in France or must be emeritus from a French establishment. The Grand Prize is worth €25,000.
The Innovation Prize Inria/Academy of Sciences/Dassault Systems is awarded to a scientist or a team of scientists who have been particularly active in the field of knowledge transfer and innovation in computer science and mathematics. Applicants may be of any nationality but must conduct their research in France or must be emeritus from a French establishment. Teams must comprise a maximum of six members. The Innovation Prize is worth €20,000.
The Young Researcher Prize Inria/Academy of Sciences is awarded to a young researcher who has significantly contributed to the fields of computer science and mathematics through their research activities or innovations. Applicants may be of any nationality but must conduct their research in France. Applicants must also be less than 40 years old, however this deadline may be extended for one year per child the applicant has. The Young Researcher Prize is worth €20,000.
